BCS Bowl Trends – 2010 BCS Bowl New Year Games at Online Betting: Alright! We’re into the meat of college football’s bowl schedule.
The NCAA will ring off 2010 with two BCS bowl games on New Year’s Day.
The No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes will battle it out with the No. 7 Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl at Pasadena and the No. 3 Cincinnati Bearcats will go head to head with the No. 5 Florida Gators in the Sugar Bowl under the Superdome in Louisiana.
In “The Granddaddy of Them All,” online betting has the Ohio State Buckeyes as 5-point underdogs with a Total set at 50.5.
OSU fans are only too aware of this, but for everyone else we need to note that the Buckeyes haven’t won a bowl game in the past three seasons, going 0-3 straight up.
Ohio State could have trouble ending the three-bowl game losing streak though as starting QB Terrelle Pryor is banged up.

According to a Dec. 30 report from the Los Angeles Times, Pryor is suffering from a partially torn ligament in his left knee and it is still bothering him despite the fact the team hasn’t seen action in about a month and a half.
Still, the Buckeyes have been hot in their past 20 games overall, going 15-5 against the spread, cashing in very nicely for their backers. Also worth noting is that in their last 11 games against Pac-10 opposition, they’ve been a very profitable 9-2 ATS.
Looking at the Total, in Ohio State’s last seven games in January, the Over has prevailed five times. Oregon has a record of 8 Overs and 2 Unders in their last 10 games overall, including six straight Overs.
In the Ducks’ last nine games when favored by 6-points or less, they are 6-3 ATS.
SPORTSBETTING.com is reporting pretty balanced action on this matchup, with 56% favoring Oregon so far.
Sugar Bowl
Florida had its sights set on defending its BCS title the week after New Years but lost to Alabama in the SEC title game and had to settle for the Sugar Bowl against Cincy instead.
The Gators are big 13-point Sugar Bowl favorites but things aren’t rosy for the boys from the Swamp.
It was revealed recently that head coach Urban Meyer, the man who lead the program to national titles in the 2006 and 2008 seasons, will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team after the Jan. 1 bowl game.
Meyer was said to be suffering chest pains after the team’s SEC championship loss, resulting in the announcement. Bettors are going to have to factor in the “win one for the Meyer-meister approach” going into the bowl game against Cincinnati.
The Bearcats also had a coaching loss to deal with, although under entirely different circumstances. Bearcats head coach Brian Kelly left Cincinnati for Notre Dame earlier in December — offensive coordinator Jeff Quinn will coach the team in the Sugar Bowl.
Unlike Florida, Cincinnati will be looking to win in order to spite deserter Kelly.
The Total for the Sugar Bowl is set at 57. In the Gators’ last seven games in the month of January, they have produced 6 Overs and 1 Under.
In Cincinnati’s last 15 games when listed as an underdog of any line range, they are 12-3 ATS.
Enjoy all the bowl games on New Year’s Eve day and of course, on New Year’s Day.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Cleveland Browns NFL Week 17 Predictions at Online Betting: Still holding on to the slimmest playoff hopes, the (7-8) Jacksonville Jaguars [+1½] will finish their season off by taking on the sports betting odds favorite (4-11) Cleveland Browns [-1½] on Sunday.
This game is scheduled to kickoff at 1 PM ET live from Cleveland Browns Stadium on CBS. NFL Week 17 Predictions experts have set the OVER/UNDER for this Jacksonville Jaguars vs Cleveland Browns game at a combined total of 37.5 points.
The last time the Jags and the Browns met dates back to last season’s Week eight. In that game, Cleveland escaped with a 23-17 victory, as Jax quarterback David Garrard couldn’t convert on a touchdown pass attempt to Matt Jones. Despite the loss, Jacksonville owns an 8-3 advantage on the overall series. Both teams have split their last six games at 3 wins apiece.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs Cleveland Browns NFL Week 17 Predictions at Online Betting
Last week, the Jaguars were defeated by New England in dominating, 35-7 fashion. “It was embarrassing,” Jaguars safety Sean Considine said. “When a playoff spot is on the line, and the opportunity is in front of you, it’s hard to believe we got physically handled like that.”
For the Browns, they captured their first three-game win streak of the season by ousting the visiting Raiders, 23-9. “I’m happy with the way things have been going,” Browns head coach Eric Mangini said. “I’ve seen progress from the group. It is a process. To see this is a real positive.”

Miami Heat VS New Orleans Hornets Live Picks at Online Betting: The match between Miami Heat and New Orleans Hornets is going to start on today, i.e. 30 December 2009 at 8.00 pm. The Miami Heat weren’t playing much defense to open December. It’s been a much different story in the second half of the month.
The Heat look to win their season-high fourth in a row Wednesday night when they face the New Orleans Hornets for the final time this season.
Miami (16-12) lost four of six to open the month, allowing 108.0 points per game on 46.2 percent shooting. An embarrassing 28-point home loss to Memphis on Dec. 13 gave the Heat a chance to reassess their defensive priorities.
Since that defeat, Miami has won five of six and is holding opponents to 86.7 points per game on 41.6 percent from the field.
“Defense has been the biggest change since the Memphis game, and just our overall approach and effort to the game and commitment to each other,” Dwyane Wade said after the Heat held Indiana to 30.7 percent shooting in Sunday’s 114-80 victory – Miami’s most-lopsided win of the season. “It’s been there ever since our team meeting.”
According to Online Betting – Miami, which is allowing an average of 79.0 points during its winning streak, will try to hold four straight opponents to fewer than 90 for the first time since Feb. 28-March 7, 2007.
The Heat, though, could face a stiff challenge in slowing down the Hornets’ inside-outside combination of Chris Paul and David West. Paul posted his 11th career triple-double and first of the season with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and West scored a career-high 44 points with 12 boards in Tuesday’s 108-100 loss at Houston.
New Orleans (13-16), however, fell to 2-13 on the road.
“We’re trying to pick up wins, especially out on the road,” West said after hitting 18 of 30 from the field. “We got the rhythm that we wanted, but we just weren’t able to sustain it.”
The Hornets return home where they have won nine of 10. Those victories, however, have been by an average of 4.0 points.
New Orleans has won four straight at home over Miami by an average of 16.7 points. The Heat are looking to win three in a row on the road for the first time since Feb. 28-March 21, 2007.

NFL Week 17 Picks and Predictions: As we get ready for the final week of the NFL regular season, there are still a few AFC teams in the hunt for the final Wild Card spot. Going into this NFL Week 17 Picks at Online Betting, there are five teams still alive in the chase to get into the tournament.
NFL Week 17 Picks These 8-7 teams are: Denver Broncos, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens. I will be taking a look at two of these teams and what NFL Week 17 Picks experts have in mind for their future.
For the defending Super Bowl champs, it’s almost hard to believe that after such a disastrous season, they’re still in contention to defend their title. As far as this NFL Week 17 Picks are concerned, NFL Betting Odds makers have listed the Pittsburgh Steelers [-3] as the sports betting odds favorites to finish the season with a road win against the (7-8) Miami Dolphins [+3]. Remember that to cash with sign-up bonuses, weekly reload bonuses and free payouts at SPORTSBETTING, where betting is safe, secure and easy.
NFL Week 17 Picks and Predictions at Online Betting
One thing that would certainly not hurt Pittsburgh’s chances is the possible return of Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu. A knee injury has limited Polamalu for most of the season, but as of Monday he had began working on drills.
“(Monday) was a positive step,” coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday. “The door’s not closed on him participating. … He’s just progressing, trying to get him ready, hopefully to play.”
For another team fighting to get into the playoffs, the Baltimore Ravens [-10½] might also be getting a key defensive player back as they face the (5-10) Oakland Raiders [+10½] in their series finale. If you bet on this game at online betting and receive a 110% Signup Bonus and start winning today!
Safety Ed Reed might be making a return for this week after sitting out the previous four games with a hip/groin injury. According to some reports, the former Defensive Player of the Year is expected to suit up and be ready to play out in the Bay Area. If the Ravens can avoid the upset, Baltimore would clinch a playoff spot.

The Hawks get to host the Cavaliers in the first game of the back-to-back today night at the Highlight Factory.
Then, the Hawks will travel to Cleveland to face the Cavaliers again on Wednesday, their final game in 2009.
The Cavaliers are winners of four straight, including a Christmas Day blowout win over the Los Angeles Lakers in LA. They returned home on Sunday and easily defeated the Houston Rockets 108-83.
During their four-game winning streak, the Cavaliers have won by an average of 17 points a game.
LeBron James has averaged 29.5 points per game during the win streak. In the blowout win against the Rockets, James only played in 29 minutes, giving him a chance to rest up before the back-to-back Eastern Conference showdown with the Hawks today.

Atlanta has not played since traveling to Indiana, where they beat the Pacers 110-98 on Saturday.
The Hawks remain in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. They trail the Orlando Magic by only half-a-game and are just one-and-a-half games behind the Cavaliers for the second overall spot.

During the regular season last year, the Hawks went 1-3 against Cleveland. James averaged 26 points per game.
Atlanta’s Joe Johnson had an up-and-down showing against the Cleveland last year. In the first two meetings, Johnson struggled heavily.
In the first regular season game against the Cavaliers last year, he scored a season-low four points and shot just .125 percent from the field.
However, in the next three games, both Johnson’s points and shooting percentage improved in each game. In game two, he had 17 points while shooting better than 40 percent from the field.
In game three he had 21 points and shot just under 50 percent. He saved his best game for last with 24 points on 61 percent shooting from the field.
Coverage begins at 7:00 PM EST on Sport South.

NFL Power Rankings Week 17: The NFL Week 16 has successfully completed. Now it’s the time to check out NFL Power Rankings for Week 17 at Online Betting. The New Orleans Saints didn’t just trip up against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15. They got exposed, and quite clearly, in a big way. If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can sneak by them, the question is begging to be asked, “Who can’t?”
Speaking of former unbeaten teams, the Indianapolis Colts made a controversial decision when head coach Jim Caldwell benched Peyton Manning and the rest of his starters in the third quarter against the New York Jets, when his team was leading, 15-10. The Colts proceeded to lose the game, 29-15, causing the entire football world to wonder what the heck Caldwell and co. were thinking.
With a fairly easy route to 16-0, Caldwell’s decision-making could suddenly be in question. Although, considering his decisions up until Week 16 had the Colts going 14-0, we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Those are just two story-lines in the NFL for Week 16. Read on to see what else is brewing for your favorite team, as well as where they rank, in the Week 17 NFL Power Rankings:
NFL Power Rankings Week 17 – The Top Ten Teams @ Online Betting
1. Indianapolis Colts (14-1)
Why is everyone getting in a fuss over Jim Caldwell resting his starters? When this team is in the Super Bowl, the guy will look like a genius.
2. San Diego Chargers (12-3)
Make it ten straight wins and counting. Really, how scared are the Colts right now?
3. New Orleans Saints (13-2)
They got a mulligan for their loss to the Dallas Cowboys. But losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, well, that’s a whole different story.
4. Philadelphia Eagles (11-4)
They’re playing for the division and the number two seed in Week 17. That’s saying a lot for a team that no one really thought too highly of less than five weeks ago.
5. Minnesota Vikings (11-4)
Don’t blame Brett Favre. It’s not even close. This Vikings defense is downright pathetic on the road.
6. Dallas Cowboys (10-5)
That “December curse” is almost gone. A win against Philly next week, and the Cowboys steal the division.
7. Green Bay Packers (10-5)
Mike McCarthy deserved an ice shower after that 48-10 romping over the Seattle Seahawks. This is the look of a hot team racing into the playoffs. First round bye team, be very afraid.
8. New England Patriots (10-5)
They dismantled a spiritless Jacksonville team, and won their division. I’m still not sure they get too much credit for either of those achievements.
9. Arizona Cardinals (10-5)
They crushed a bad St. Louis team, as they should have, and locked up their division last week. They’re right where they should be.
10. Cincinnati Bengals (10-5)
They got pas the Chiefs to get their tenth win of the season. Congratulations?

Minnesota Vikings vs Chicago Bears Live Streaming Picks at Online Betting: The Vikings have played more close games than you’d think, and they haven’t been playing their best football lately, losing two of three including an embarrassing loss in Carolina to the Panthers. There’s been some problems reported with Brett Favre and head coach Brad Childress, with questions as to who’s in charge. Now that we have that all cleared up, and everyone knows that Brett’s in charge, I think the Vikings will turn it around in Week 16.
Online Betting is giving the live odds for Monday night football of Vikings vs Bears Game.
More important that what the Vikings will be doing is the team they are going to be playing. And I know it’s been a disappointing year for Carolina, and the Panthers haven’t played well, but it’s tough to match up with how poorly the Bears have fared after all the pre-season hype.
Who looks like the dummy now folks? All that talks about how stupid Josh McDaniels was for trading away Jay Cutler for a bunch of picks and Kyle Orton seems like rubbish now, doesn’t it? Kyle and the Broncos are on the verge of a playoff birth while Jay and the Bears are a couple wins away from, just 7 freaking wins. That’s right, Chicago is guaranteed a losing season, and lately, they’ve been playing like the bottom tier in the NFL.
Just last week, the Bears made the Ravens offense look like the greatest show on turf, and they’ve lost 6 of 7 to boot. Chicago is just a bad football team, and there’s not much more to say about it. Minnesota better get it right here, if not now than never.

Detroit Pistons vs. Charlotte Bobcats Live Streaming Odds and Picks: Its just the right time to go for online basketball betting with the Detroit Pistons taking on Charlotte Bobcats this Tuesday. This exciting match begins at 7:00 PM, ET at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Although the Detroit Pistons go into the match without three of their main players, team coach John Kuester is confident that they would pull off a win. Basketball betting fans are surely in for a treat this Tuesday. Sportsbooks would sure be abuzz this Tuesday.
Basketball betting fans second John Kuester’s view as the Charlotte Bobcats are going into the match without two of their top players. Further, Detroit Pistons beat Charlotte Bobcats 98-75 in their previous encounter on November 11, 2009 at home. A win for Detroit Pistons would end their four-game slide. No wonder John Kuester is looking forward to this game and exudes confidence in winning this game. Here’s some news for online basketball betting enthusiasts, Charlotte Bobcats’ Steven Jackson remains doubtful for Tuesday’s game and so is forward Gerald Wallace, who is down with painful headaches. Gerald Wallace is currently averaging 12.1 rebounds and 17.7 points. Absence of Steven Jackson could severely hamper Charlotte Bobcats’ chances of victory as the Bobcats’ just cannot find a replacement for him. Well there’s some thing to ponder about for basketball betting enthusiasts.
Detroit Pistons are also with injury woes. Richard Hamilton and Ben Gordon remain doubtful for Tuesday’s game. The injury woes could well make Detroit Pistons depend on Rodney Stuckey, who is averaging 4.4 assists and 19.7 points.
Basketball betting picks could favor Detroit Pistons as they won 8 of their last 9 games against Charlotte Bobcats. Charlotte Bobcats could find it tough and the injury list wouldn’t help their cause. At 91.3 points a game, Bobcats rank among the lowest scoring teams in the entire league. Now that’s something for online basketball betting fans.

Hockey betting would get exciting this Tuesday night with San Jose Sharks taking on Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago Blackhawks are the home team, while the San Jose Sharks are the visiting team. Hockey betting fans are definitely in for a feast this Tuesday night. The match would be played at the United Center.
The Chicago Blackhawks would be going into this game on a high note after a 3-0 win over Detroit Red Wings. Here’s some news for hockey betting fans, Chicago Blackhawks won both the previous encounters against San Jose Sharks in November. While the first game was won by Chicago Blackhawks 4-3, the second game was won 7-2. The game would be exciting for both general viewers and hockey betting fans as well, since San Jose Sharks have put behind their recent loosing streak and registered a thumping win over Anaheim Ducks and pulled off a 4-2 win over the Stars in Dallas. Although San Jose Sharks had impressive wins against Pittsburgh Penguins, Colorado Avalanche and Kings, their consistency is a matter of concern.
Hockey betting fans putting money on San Jose Sharks have a reason to smile, the Sharks’ recent game against Anaheim Ducks reminded bettors of the team’s excellent performance in the early part of the season. Further, the Sharks’ best players led from the front.
Online hockey betting fans expect the match to be challenging for San Jose Sharks as they had a season full of ups and downs. After winning back-to-back against Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators San Jose Sharks lost five consecutive matches. Chicago Blackhawks, on the other hand, are considered to rank among the league’s best teams. Although San Jose Sharks are not in a must-win state, they would definitely use this game to rate themselves against the Western Conference. Hockey betting fans must look out for this exciting match. A resurgent San Jose Sharks vs. a very confident Chicago Blackhawks.

NFL Power Rankings Week 16: The NFL Week 15 has successfully completed. Now its time to check out the NFL Week 16 Power Rankings at Online Betting. The AFC is a disaster. Seemingly the whole conference is still alive for the playoffs in some way or another. Throw in a week where the underdogs reigned, ant the Power rankings are a jumble again. Here are the latest NFL Power Rankings for Week 16.
NFL Power Rankings Week 16 – Top 10 NFL Teams
No.1 Indianapolis Colts 14-0
The Colts worked the Jaguars of Jacksonville, kicking the sleek cats with those powerful young hooves, and stomping them into the turf.
No. 2 New Orleans Saints 13-1
New Orleans lost a game to Dallas, who the game meant much more to, and dropped a spot to No 2. They will finish the season at 15-1 and stay at this position into the playoffs.
No. 3 Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings rebounded from their Arizona defeat by chopping up the Bengals, piece by piece. Minnesota should also win out to finish at 14-2 and keep the No. 3 ranking into the playoffs. They are a dangerous team to face on the road.
No. 4 San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers may be finally at the dream season they have been waiting for. Beat Cincinnati at home and wrap this division up in Tennessee next week. Simple formula, huh?
No.5 Arizona Cardinals
Arizona is hot more than they are cold, are in control of that division, and headed for the playoffs. Many teams can’t say that, in Week 16. 11-5 or 10-6 will be the final record and the NFC West title will be theirs again.
NFL Week 16 Power Rankings at Online Betting
No. 6 Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers have come charging out of the woods, surprising teams, and slaughtering them, storing their seasons in a deep freeze until next year. The Packers could be at a wild card pace of 10-5 when this Week 16 ends.
No. 7 Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are having a tragedy type season, with two very emotional situations interfering with the concentration needed to win championships.
If they over come this last hardship, Chris Henry’s tragic death, by beating San Diego, I’d be shocked. They will finish out with a win in Kansas City and be at 11-5 at the season’s end. Move these guys up with a win in San Diego to No. 4.
No. 8 Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are surging along with new, young talent and veteran leadership. Yes, this might just work. The Eagles were a quarter away from the Super Bowl just last season, so be careful ruling the Eagles out this season.
No. 9 Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have almost locked up a playoff spot up, and have Philadelphia the last game of the season. This will be a good test of Romo under pressure, right before the playoffs start.
No. 10 Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos are still alive in the playoffs at an 11-5 pace and a wild card. Well, maybe 10-6. We shall see. A good record, and a pretty good team. Not great, but pretty good.
